New Japan Philharmonic
Founded in 1972 under the leadership of renowned conductors Seiji Ozawa and Naozumi Yamamoto, the New Japan Philharmonic (NJP) started as a self-managed orchestra. Establishing its residence at Sumida Triphony Hall in 1997, the orchestra pioneered Japan's first comprehensive franchise system. In addition to its regular and special concerts, the NJPis deeply committed to community engagement through various local performances. In April 2023, Yutaka Sado was appointed the fifth Music Director, continuing the orchestra's tradition of excellence. The orchestra's activities seamlessly seamlessly integrate the city, the hall, and the orchestra in their artistic endeavors.
