Showa Academia Musicae Orchestra
The orchestra, primarily composed of students majoring in string, wind, and percussion instruments at Showa University of Music and its Junior College, participates in a wide range of musical activities. These include regular concerts such as Showa University of Music Symphony Orchestra Regular Concerts”, University Opera performances, "Messiah" performances, as well as appearances at Festa Summer Muza Kawasaki and the College of Music Orchestra Festival. It has collaborated with both domestic and international renowned conductors and musicians such as H. Läubin, K. Martin, M. Matačić, D. Mazzola, Yutaka Hoshide, Yasufumi Tokito, Shigeo Genda, Toshiaki Umeda, Kazufumi Yamashita, and Yuko Tanaka. Additionally, the orchestra has received guidance from world-renowned conductors like F. Luisi, D. Rustioni, and F.X. Roth.
Orchestra del Teatro Giglio Showa, Orchestra
Orchestra del Teatro Giglio Showa is an orchestra established by Showa University of Music in April 2010 as part of career support for graduates. The orchestra holds biannual regular concerts, a performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, and a "Concerto Regular Concert" featuring highly skilled students who have achieved outstanding grades. Additionally, it provides opportunities for current students to enhance their performance experience through joint performances with the Showa University of Music Symphony Orchestra at Festa Summer Muza Kawasaki and collaborations with students at in-house concerts. The orchestra also participates in performances with professional groups such as The Fujiwara Opera and Star Dancers Ballet. Since 2011, it has performed at the "Kawasaki Shinyuri Arts Festival" held in Shinyurigaoka every year. The orchestra engages in a wide range of activities, including symphony, opera, and ballet performances.
